The family asked us to completely level the site, install new kerbstones, add a clean decorative infill, and finish the space with fresh flowers — creating a tidy, long-lasting and respectful resting place.

Condition Before Restoration

When we assessed the plot, it showed several common issues found in older sections of Anfield Cemetery:

• Roots growing through the soil and lifting areas of the plot

What We Did

Once the ground was stable, we set new kerbstones into a solid cement base to ensure lasting stability. Every kerb was levelled, aligned, and checked to ensure a clean, professional frame around the plot.

4. Laying a Weed-Protective Membrane

Before adding the infill, we installed a high-quality weed membrane across the entire central area. This is essential for long-term maintenance and helps keep the appearance clean and low-effort for visiting families.

5. Filling the Plot With Cotswold Stone Chippings

The centre of the plot was filled with fresh Cotswold stone chippings, giving the grave a bright, clean and modern appearance. Cotswold stone is a popular choice for families wanting a tidy and elegant finish that requires very little ongoing maintenance.

6. Finishing Touches with Fresh Flowers

To complete the restoration, we added fresh flowers requested by the family. This final touch brought warmth and colour to the restored memorial.

The new kerbs frame the grave clearly, the Cotswold stone provides a tidy and low-maintenance finish, and the ground beneath is solid and level for long-term stability.
